Speaker Spotlight: Bobby Soriano
In today’s world, there are no limits to advancements in technology. Sure, we are thankful for such innovations make our lives easier. But, thing is, some people may also be at ease in stealing other people’s information, due to limitless technology that we have at hand.
The Internet is not as secure as we think it is. With this, the efforts to protect the information that we share over the information superhighway must also be limitless. The next superstar in our BlogFest 2010 Speaker Spotlight series, BOBBY SORIANO, will help us stay secure while being productive online.
Bobby has 15 years of systems and network administration experience. He has worked with numerous NGOs implementing information and computer related projects. He is also an information and communications technology trainer. His recent work includes computer and online trainings for conferences and organisations in Asia, Africa and some countries in Europe. He is also involved in projects on the use of mobile technologies for advocacy.
Bobby is a member of the Tactical Tchnology Collective, an international Non-Government Organization that is focused on using information and communications technology in advancing advocacies for the welfare of marginalized communities.
Bobby spoke at the recently held Mindanao Bloggers Summit 4 at Zamboanga City, where he demonstrated how easily private information from networks can be easily accessed by anyone, and shared how one can safeguard his/her private information. In the BlogFest SOCCSKSARGEN, Bobby will do just the same, to help bloggers from Southern Mindanao be secure while living their online lives.
