Speaker Spotlight: Michelle L. Solon
Michelle L. Solon is one of SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers’ very own, based in the beautiful province of Sarangani.
She graduated from UP Diliman finishing BS Tourism. She currently works as a Country Account Manager of REACH Networks, a international telecom company owned by PCCW of Hong Kong and Telstra of Australia.
Her passion for tourism did not fade as she started her own travel agency and tour operations in General Santos in 2008 and has now branch in Glan, Sarangani. This passion became an advocacy to bring Region 12 on the radar of the travel enthusiasts. Thus her website, GoSarangani.com, was created to encourage people to travel to Sarangani, General Santos and South Cotabato.
She currently sits as the President of the Sarangani Tourism Industry Association and the Chairperson of Sarangani Tourism Council, and is in the executive committee of the Mindanao Tourism Council. Recently, she was appointed to the Board of Duty Free Philippines.
She is the wife of the Vice Governor of Sarangani, the Honorable Steve Solon.
She is a true-blue lover of travel and Mindanao.
Michelle will speak on her the role of new media on her life’s passion all because, as the BlogFest 2010 tag goes, ‘If you blog it, they will come.’
